How to choose a wall mixer tap
A wall mixer sits on the wall surface and mixes hot and cold water. A 2-in-1 feeds the spout plus one shower. A 3-in-1 feeds the spout, an overhead shower through the L bend and a hand shower.
Telephonic means the mixer has a crutch that holds a hand shower, like a phone on its cradle. The L bend is the pipe that carries water up the wall from the mixer to an overhead shower arm.
A diverter is different: it sits inside the wall, so only the handle, knob and plate show, and it must be fitted while the wall is open.
You will need hot and cold pipe points in the wall, and the hand shower or overhead shower you want to run from the mixer.
