• What is the difference between the SS 304 and SS 202 versions of this sink? SS 304 contains roughly 8% nickel, which is what gives it real corrosion resistance, important with borewell and hard water. Ruhe's 304 version is 1.2 mm thick; the 202 version is up to 1 mm. The 202 costs less and is ideal for homes where the hard water is not a problem.
• What does “handmade” mean in a handmade kitchen sink? Handmade sinks are formed by welding sheet steel at the corners rather than pressing a single sheet into shape. That allows thicker-gauge steel, tighter corners and a deeper bowl; this one is 254 mm deep. Slightly rounded corners are kept so grime does not collect where a square corner would trap it.
• Will a 24 x 18 x 10 inch sink fit my kitchen counter? The 304 version measures 610 x 458 x 254 mm with a 560 x 407 mm bowl. It suits a standard Indian counter around 24 inches deep. The base cabinet must be wider than 610mm with clearance on either side for the cutout. It fits small to mid-size modular kitchens well.
• Can this sink be installed as an undermount sink? Yes. It supports both top-mount and undermount fitting. Undermount suits granite and quartz counters and makes wiping the countertop easier, since there is no raised rim. Top-mount is simpler and cheaper to install, and is the safer option if your counter is laminate or thinner stone.
• Is stainless steel 304 rust-proof in hard water areas? No stainless steel is fully rust-proof, but 304 with 8% nickel resists corrosion far better than lower grades. In borewell or high-TDS areas, the visible problem is usually mineral scaling, not rust. Wiping the bowl dry after use is the single most effective habit for keeping it clear.
• How noisy is a stainless steel sink when washing utensils? This sink has sound-dampening rubber pads and a noise-absorbing coating on the underside, which cuts the drumming of running water and clattering steel vessels. It will not be as quiet as quartz, which absorbs sound through sheer density, but it is noticeably quieter than an uncoated thin-gauge sink.
• What comes in the box with this handmade single bowl sink? You get the sink bowl, one stainless steel coupling, a 30-inch PVC waste pipe and one adjustable vegetable basket. The faucet is not included; you choose it separately. Paid home installation can be added at checkout, and Ruhe provides free at-home after-sales support across India.
• What is the warranty on a Ruhe handmade sink? The bowl carries a 25-year warranty. The coupling, waste pipe and adjustable vegetable basket are covered for 2 years. Returns and exchanges are accepted up to 30 days from delivery. Registering the warranty on the Ruhe website after installation makes any future claim faster to process.
